Stoneleigh Housing Inc. (Madison): $50,000 To weatherize a 101-unit HUD complex located at 400 Lamb Avenue in Canastota. Work scope includes insulation and air sealing.
People’s Equal Action and Community Effort, Inc.Limestone Gardens (Onondaga): $200,000 To assist Limestone Gardens, a 120-unit Mitchell-Lama project in weatherization efforts. Work scope includes: replace boiler, heating distribution system work, window replacement and lighting upgrades.
Tompkins Community Action, Inc., Ithaca Housing Authority’s Northside Apartment Complex (Tompkins): $60,000 To weatherize Ithaca Housing Authority’s Northside Apartment Complex, seven two-story townhouses. Work scope includes: air sealing, lighting, insulation, refrigerator replacement and water conservation measures.
Tompkins Community Action, Inc. (Tompkins) : $85,000 To work with Ithaca Urban Renewal Agency and the Ithaca Northside/Southside Energy Conservation Initiative to weatherize housing units for low-income with high energy burdens referred by the county Office For the Aging and Department of Social Services.
Cayuga/Seneca Community Action (Cayuga County): $75,000 To complete approximately 20 additional housing units for the elderly; households with children, those with special needs and high energy burden.
Better Housing for Tompkins County
Elder Cottage Lease Program: Rent small modular homes to income eligible seniors who wish to have them installed temporarily next to the family home of their adult children or other supportive relatives/friends. Tompkins County Home Repair Program: available to county residents outside the City of Ithaca.

Service Profile: Weatherization assistance providers can assist eligible homeowners with measures to improve energy efficiency including:
- an energy audit of the home to identify specific needs;
- weatherstripping and caulking around doors and windows;
- cleaning, testing, repairs, or replacement of heating systems;
- replacement or repair of storm windows;
- replacement or repair of broken windows and/or outside doors;
- addition of insulation to walls or ceilings;
- mitigation of health and safety concerns, in particular assure that all dwelling units receive smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
Weatherization Services may also include other energy-related improvements such as: water heater repair/replacement, roof repair/replacement, chimney repairs, lighting fixture replacement, venting systems, heating distribution system replacement, refrigerator replacement, installation of GFIC outlets, and electrical service upgrade.
Weatherization services are available to income-eligible (60% of State median income) individuals who may be either home owners or renters living in a mobile home, an apartment, or a single-family home.
