Above: The Thomas-Morse Building, once home to the Thomas-Morse Aircraft Corporation's Engineering and Testing Department, circa 1916.
Today it houses Historic Ithaca's Preservation Services and Significant Elements.
Preservation Services promotes architectural restoration, rehabilitation, and preservation planning in Tompkins County and the Finger Lakes Region. Our goal is to provide technical and logistical support to individuals, organizations, and municipal governments in preserving our heritage and to foster awareness of the historic resources in our community.
Preservation Services are offered by Historic Ithaca, a non-profit organization that was created in 1966 as a community response to threats to downtown Ithaca landmarks. Today, the organization serves the entire Finger Lakes Region.
